ABC – New York Harlem, USA

The pandemic is particularly disruptive for children living in households below the federal poverty line who are often in shelters and who already experience violence, neglect, severe emotional distress and hunger.

ABC (Association to Benefit Children) in East Harlem, New York has quickly mobilized all of their resources to meet the urgent needs of children and families by delivering food, mental health treatment and preventive services. They are more vulnerable now than ever, especially in this part of the USA, which has suffered the most as the epicenter of the pandemic.

We would like to help ABC in raising money for:

1. Meals: They will provide up to 1,500 grab-and-go meals a week for the next few months until schools will (hopefully) re-open and the children can again get their lunches there.
2. Mental Health Support: The Children’s Mobile Mental Health Crisis Team (CMCT) will have expert staff traveling within 2 hours of an emergency call, to homes and shelters and wherever a crisis is unfolding, to provide support and to prevent abuse, neglect and injury.
